Cupping

Cupping is a non-invasive adjunct therapy to acupuncture treatments that uses suction cups, glass cups or silicone cups to increase circulation and stretch tissue.  Areas of the body that have adjusted to repetitive movement or injury form adhesions and tightness.  Cupping therapy “lifts” muscle, and layers of fascia from one another relieving pain in the areas that have been stuck.

Benefits of cupping include increased range of motion as well as pain relief for sciatica, back pain, and neck pain. The separation and increased movement that is created through Chinese cupping, allows tissue to be nourished and healed by an increase in blood and oxygen flow to the areas of concern.

Cupping may also be used cosmetically. Facial cupping promotes increased blood flow and oxygen to the facial area reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
